Five members of the Wisconsin
women's openweight rowing team made the 2005 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association All-Region Team, the CRCA announced Friday, setting a school record for the most selections to the All-Region team. Seniors Nikki Lennart and Shannon Gedman, and junior coxswain Meghan Bradshaw were all first-team picks, and seniors Jenny Tuffree and Julie Quoss made the second team. Varsity eight boats ranked in the top six in the region received automatic picks for their nominees.
Lennart was also a 2005 first-team All-Big Ten selection and a 2004 CRCA second-team all-Region honoree. She rows the seventh seat for the No. 11 varsity eight boat. Gedman earned second-team All-Big Ten honors in addition to her CRCA selection. Quoss was a first-team All Region selection in 2004.
Wisconsin travels to Rancho Cordova, Calif., for the NCAA championships May 27-29.
