Oak Lawn OL looking for first offer

Jim Moore made two camp visits in the past week

Jim Moore, a 6-foot-4, 305-pound class of 2006 offensive line prospect, is still waiting to receive his first scholarship offer, according to Gary Korhonen, his prep coach at Oak Lawn (Ill.) Richards.

"He's had a lot of interest created, but nobody that I know of has offered him a scholarship," Korhonen said in a telephone interview Wednesday.

"He's a big lad," Korhonen said of Moore. "He's a pretty good tackle."

According to Korhonen, Moore has made summer camp visits to Notre Dame and Wisconsin in the past week. Moore told Scout.com in April that he also planned to camp at Michigan State.

Richards is one of the high school programs in the Midwest that college recruiters tend to flock towards and this year's spring evaluation period was not any different. Korhonen said that every Big Ten school stopped by and asked about Moore, as did most Mid-American Conference schools and a few Big 12 programs, such as Kansas and Kansas State.

"We get them from all over," Korhonen said. "But I've been there for 33 years. We've had 262 college (players) and five in the pros. We've built up a reputation, a clientele. A lot of times people stop by if they think we have somebody, even if they're not sure."

Only one senior-to-be at Richards has received a scholarship offer so far, Korhonen said: 6-2, 215-pound outside linebacker Mike Lepper, who has an offer from Northern Illinois.
