NBA Draft: Wilkinson file

Former University of Wisconsin star expected to become an undrafted free agent

To those who watched Mike Wilkinson perform over four years at the University of Wisconsin, it seems somewhat baffling that there could be 60 names called during tonight's NBA Draft without a single one being "Mike Wilkinson."

But while Wilkinson was an outstanding college basketball player, that has not endeared him to NBA scouts. And while he has a shot at cracking the second round, the consensus from draft prognosticators is that Wilkinson will have to try to latch onto a team as a free agent, likely signing for the NBA's forthcoming summer league with hopes of landing in a training camp this fall. If that does not pan out, Wilkinson has long said that he will head to Europe to play professionally there.

Wisconsin's all-time leader in games (130) and minutes played (4,023), Wilkinson finished his Badger career ranked sixth in career scoring (1,532 points), third in rebounding (856) and first in offensive rebounds (311).
