Hawley has second offer

Calif. OL will take his time with recruiting

Joe Hawley, a class of 2006 offensive line prospect at Esperanza High School in Anaheim, Calif., has received his second scholarship offer.

"I just got offered from UNLV," Hawley said in a telephone interview Sunday afternoon.

Hawley (6-foot-4, 275 pounds) said the Rebels began recruiting him in May and offered last month. Their tender follows a scholarship offer Hawley received from Wisconsin in May.

An all-state lineman in his first year of varsity football last fall, Hawley will again start at offensive tackle this fall and expects to rotate in at defensive tackle.

Hawley is in wait-and-see mode regarding recruiting. He said that he has not made any unofficial visits, he did not attend any summer football camps, and he does not have any visits scheduled at this point. Instead, Hawley is focused on his senior season.

"I guess I'm just sitting back and letting it come to me and then I'm going to see what happens," he said.
