Bankhead to join Badgers in December

Annie Bankhead, a class of 2005 Wisconsin women's basketball recruit, will not join her teammates this fall. According to a statement from the university, Bankhead has not "fulfilled the necessary admission requirements of the institution."

The Capital Times reported Thursday that Bankhead received permission to attend UW from the NCAA Clearinghouse on Wednesday. Bankhead recently completed a required course through summer school at Proviso West High School but her transcripts were held up in the NCAA Clearinghouse. UW rejected her admission because of the holdup. According to The Capital Times, Bankhead is expected to begin practice in mid-December and will enroll at UW for the spring semester.
