Hawley took an unofficial visit to the Madison, Wis. campus for the Badgers' home game against Indiana Oct. 8 and is planning on taking one of his five official visits to Wisconsin, though it has yet to be formally scheduled.
In a telephone interview Tuesday night, Hawley said he is also strongly considering taking official visits to Arizona, Washington State and Oregon. Those schools, he said, are showing "pretty high" interest. That trio, plus Wisconsin and UNLV, have all been showing him about the same level of interest.
Hawley enjoyed his trip to Madison, which was his first time on the UW campus.
"I met the coaches and I took a tour of the campus and I went to the game," Hawley said. "I found out a lot about their program, about how they did stuff, how my schedule would be."
The Badgers won 41-24 that day.
"It was a good atmosphere," Hawley said.
Esperanza is 5-2 overall and in third place in its league. The top three in each league receive automatic berths to the playoffs.
