Midwest recruit rankings - the linebackers

All week Scout.com will be updating the rankings for Midwestern prospects. The states included are Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Kentucky has been recently added to the Midwest. This is a look at the top 20 linebackers in the Midwest.

Detroit's Brandon Graham is the undisputed No. 1 linebacker in the Midwest and California's Allen Bradford is the only linebacker ranked ahead of him nationally. Graham is committed to Michigan and he'll be joined in Ann Arbor by Ohio's Cobrani Mixon and Flint, Mich. linebacker Quintin Patilla.

Thaddeus Gibson, the No. 2 linebacker, is an athlete who plays the game with reckless abandon. The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder, from Euclid, Ohio, has great range, could be used as an edge blitzer and makes plays all over the field.

Ohio's Ross Homan committed to Ohio State last winter but that didn't stop him from attending the Scout.com combine in Akron. The 6-foot-1, 235-pounder, showed up and proved why he's considered the No. 3 linebacker prospect in the Midwest.

Ohio's James Allison has the size and strength to play inside, but he is also fast and athletic enough to play on the outside. He's a very physical, punishing linebacker with above average coverage skills.

The biggest sleeper of this group is Iowa's Dorian Davis. Keep an eye out for this young man in the next few years. The only question is where he ends up playing his college football. Tennessee has offered but Iowa could be too much to pass up if they offer a scholarship.

Rather than list the players' height, weight, and speed, we have listed the school they are committed to if any. Click on their player page to see more information including scouting videos and schools of interest.
