Becker improved to 13-0 with the win and is ranked No. 1 in Class AAA. The team will attempt to win its first Prep Bowl next Friday. They have finished runner-up four times, including last year.
Potter has been plagued by injuries in Becker's tournament runs the past two seasons. He was injured in a 10-6 loss to Glencoe in the 2003 semifinals. He fractured his ankle in three places in Becker's semifinal victory last year, then tried to play in the final against East Grand Forks, but had to leave after one series of a 31-14 loss.
Potter told Golden Sports.Net that he is hearing from Big Ten schools such as Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Ohio State along with Georgia Tech and Louisville. He attended Minnesota's camp last summer.
Potter also plays basketball for the Bulldogs, who finished 15-12 last season. He ran track in the past, but is leaning towards playing baseball this spring.
Potter runs a 4.6 40-yard dash and bench presses 225 pounds. He comes from a football family. Oldest brother Kyle played at Fergus Falls Community College and Derek, who played last year for Becker, redshirted at Division II St. Cloud State at linebacker. Derek was an all-state selection as a junior and received some early Minnesota interest.
