Junior College: College of the Sequoias
Position: Quarterback

Pack Pride checked in with College of the Sequoias assistant coach Andy Siegal for an update on star quarterback Brent Schaeffer, and coach Siegal confirmed that the five-star quarterback prospect will be visiting North Carolina State this weekend.

"Brent is visiting NC State this weekend," Siegal said. "He is going to Wisconsin next weekend, Ole Miss on Jan. 13, and is in the process of setting up an official visit to Florida."

NC State recruited Schaeffer in 2004 after he completed a stellar career at Deerfield Beach High School in Deerfield Beach, Fla., but he elected to ink with Tennessee on signing day.

This summer he transferred from Tennessee to College of the Sequoias, where he had an oustanding season. Schaeffer earned MVP honors and was recently a unanimous First-Team JC Grid-Wire All-American selection. Schaeffer totaled 49 touchdowns and nearly 3,750 yards of total offense in his only season at the junior college. In 11 games, he passed for 2,972 yards and 40 touchdowns while rushing for 787 yards and another nine scores.

Pack Pride will have more on Schaeffer's recruitment following his official visit.
