Badgers no match for Wildcats, lose 94-75

PHILADELPHIA— The ninth-seeded University of Wisconsin men's basketball team lost 94-75 at the Wachovia Center here Friday afternoon to eighth-seeded Arizona, ending the Badgers' season in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Wisconsin finishes the year 19-12, having lost four consecutive games and five of its last six to close out the campaign.

Arizona burst out to a commanding lead early in this game and never looked back, leading wire-to-wire. The Wildcats led 8-0 just two minutes, 11 seconds into the affair and built a 35-11 advantage with 8:48 left in the first half.

Wisconsin out-scored the Wildcats 23-11 the rest of the half to make a game of it at halftime, down 46-34.

Arizona scored 11 of the first 13 points in the second half, though, to take a 57-36 lead. The Badgers never challenged from there.

Hassan Adams scored 17 of his game-high 21 points in the second half. Alando Tucker led Wisconsin with 19.
