Sophomore Katie Elliott posted a season-best 1-under 71 in the third round and finished tied for 14th with a 221 (75-75-71). Senior Lindsay McMillan tied for 21st with a 223 (73-76-74) while freshman Jeana Dahl (46th with a 230), senior Jackie Obermueller (51st with a 232) and freshman Isabel Alvarez (74th with a 244) also scored for the Badgers.
Kansas won the team title with an 884 and Arizona's Adriana Zwanck claimed medalist honors with a 3-under 213.
Women's tennis: Spartans down Badgers 5-2
The Wisconsin women's tennis team continued its slide, falling 5-2 to Michigan State (10-5 overall, 1-2 Big Ten) Sunday in East Lansing, Mich., for the first time since 1982.
Wisconsin (3-12, 0-3) dropped the doubles point and got wins only from sophomores Chelsea Nusslock and Morgan Tuttle. Playing at No. 2 singles, Nusslock defeated Pascale Schnitzer 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 and Tuttle dominated at the sixth spot, taking down Marianne Eelens 6-4, 6-0. Junior Kaylan Caiati dropped a 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 match to MSU's Christine Bader at No. 1 singles.
