Homestead teammates receiving interest

Linebacker Dillon Forbes is one of the top prospects in the state of Wisconsin

Three class of 2007 prospects at Mequon (Wis.) Homestead High School are receiving Division I interest, according to Homestead head coach Dave Keel.

Dillon Forbes, a 6-foot-1, 225-pound linebacker, an honorable mention Milwaukee Journal Sentinel All-Area selection as a junior, is still waiting for his first scholarship offer, but he is receiving significant interest from programs such as Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, Western Michigan, Ball State and Northern Illinois. Those six schools have requested video of Forbes and are expected to visit Homestead during the spring evaluation period, along with North Dakota State.

Two of Forbes's teammates are receiving interest from Mid-American Conference schools: defensive end Qortney McLeod (6-3, 245) and cornerback Ryan Lunde (6-0, 175).

Keel said that McLeod is as good as any defensive end he has coached. That includes 2005 Northern Illinois signee Adam Grimm.

Keel calls Lunde a "shutdown corner." He held Racine Park standout and 2006 Wisconsin signee wide receiver Diondrae Jenkins to zero catches in the teams' matchup in the WIAA Division 1 state semifinals in November.
