"I was up (to Wisconsin) for an unofficial visit during the season," Threet said in a telephone interview last night. "The day they played Iowa (Nov. 12) I was up there for that game…
"It was good. I like the atmosphere. They have a good fan base, a really nice stadium."
When does he plan to make his decision?
"I'm going to plan on deciding some time in July," Threet said.
He did not claim any favorites.
"No, not at this point I don't have any," he said. "I'm kind of just taking a look at the different options so far."
"I'm just looking to be comfortable with (a school)," Threet added. "The coaching staff and also the setting, the school academically, and the people who are there, teammates, things like that."
Threet will be a third-year starter as a senior this fall, after throwing for about 1,600 yards, 20 touchdowns and 11 interceptions last season.
This spring Threet attended an Elite 11 camp at Georgia Tech, in Atlanta, and the Nike combine in Columbus, Ohio, on the Ohio State campus.
"I didn't really have an idea of what was going to happen going into (the recruiting process)," Threet said. "I thought I did well at all the camps and showed some promise during the season."
With nine scholarship offers in hand and the possibility of more to come, Threet could have a busy summer as he tries to narrow down his list of suitors.
"Right now I'm starting out my summer schedule," Threet said, "and taking a look at some of the places that I'm going to visit this summer; some of those places that I'm considering a lot…
"So far I have one (camp) down at Miami (Ohio) this weekend. Just a one-day thing. Then going on a trip down south to Georgia Tech, Tennessee and N.C. State…
Threet said he is going to try to make a trip back to Wisconsin before he makes his decision this summer.
"I might be up there," Threet said. "… They have a camp the last week in June. So I might be up there for that… At least one day I'd probably take part in it."
Threet played varsity baseball a year ago as a pitcher/outfielder but chose to focus on football this spring and summer. He also plays small forward on Adrian's basketball team. "I played this past year but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to play next year or not," he said.
Threet has a 4.0 grade-point average and he scored 27 on his ACT.
