John Clay update

Ranked as the No.4 running back in the country by Scout.com, John Clay from Racine (Wis.) Park High School still denies a leader and says he will consider all seven of the schools that have offered him already.

John Clay favors Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Tennessee and Iowa. All have offered. He also has an offer from Minnesota.

"I'll probably start to narrow it down during my season. Right now I really don't have any favorites and am not thinking about it yet," Clay said.

"I like Michigan because they run the ball a lot and they aren't afraid to play freshman," Clay said. "The coaches have been around for a long time and they are proven. They are always near the top of the Big Ten and compete for the national championship.

"I think the new coaches at Nebraska will turn it around. They are getting better and better and I would probably be able to play early there," Clay said.

"Ohio State has really good coaches too and I like the athletes they produce," Clay said. "They have a great stadium and the locker room and weight room are really nice.

"Wisconsin's offense features the running back and I think I'd be able to really show off my skills in that kind of an offense," Clay said.

"Iowa is another good running team. Their offense is always pretty good and they are still an up and coming team."

He reports a 2.8 GPA and a 17 on the ACT, which he'll retake in the fall.
