Information on the Bowling Green game

An announcement from the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department regarding the game on September 2, 2006 against the visiting Wisconsin Badgers.

The Bowling Green State University Department of Athletics has announced that Wisconsin-based American Family Insurance will serve as the presenting sponsor for "The Clash In Cleveland", the 2006 season opening football game featuring BGSU and Wisconsin in Cleveland Browns Stadium. The game will kickoff at 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 2 and will be aired by ESPN Regional Television.

Based in Madison, Wis., American Family Mutual Insurance offers auto, homeowners, life, health, commercial and farm/ranch insurance, plus financial services, in 18 states. The company employs 8,100 people and sells its products through 4,300 independent contractor agents. American Family is the nation's third largest mutual property/casualty insurance company.

"Their involvement with us begins a new chapter for programs like BGSU as the relationship between corporate partners in our footprint expand as competition between teams from the MAC and Big Ten is played in venues that will serve as a home field for teams in our conference."

The game will be the first NCAA Division IA game ever played in Cleveland Browns Stadium.
