Steve Johnson, a 6-foot-3, 225-pound, linebacker from Brookfield (WI) Central is a prospect to keep an eye on in 2002.
Johnson will be a three-year varsity starter this season. Last year he was named all-conference on both sides of the ball.
Johnson has what most college football prospects can only dream of. He won't have to beg any college recruiters to come watch him play.
They'll all be there watching his teammate and All-American candidate Joe Thomas. You can't ask for a better stage to showcase your skills.
"I don't have any offers yet." Johnson said. "Iowa and the MAC schools have been in contact with me. My favorites would be Wisconsin, Iowa and Northern Illinois.
Johnson camped at Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. He also letters in basketball and track.
