They call him The Maniac

Just when you think it is safe to let your children out to play - the BadgerManiac is out for funtime on the Big Ten playgrounds. See who, what, and why the Big Ten will be dominant in the BM's predictions.

Minnesota @ Kent State

Minnesota returns enough skill players and their running scheme will always be solid, so that is enough to get past an overmatched opponent like Kent State. The Goofs will run at will with a few Cupito deep strikes mixed in for good measure. Gophers over the Flashes, 48-21.

Northwestern @ Miami (OH)

This one comes down to which inexperienced QB makes plays and which one makes mistakes. The Mildcats return Sutton and most of their offensive line, so look for Fitzgerald to take the heat off Kafka as much as possible. Home field and MAC pride make this one interesting, but Miami is too young to unseat the B10. Wildcats over Redhawks, 31-24.

Eastern Illinois @ Illinois

Another game that will feature a B10 rushing attack against an overmatched defensive front. Illinois has some question marks, but not enough to matter on this day. Fibbers 35, Lesser Fibbers 14.

Western Michigan @ Indiana

Indiana's OL will have some trouble at times against the Broncos front, but they have enough defensive backfield to contain the Bronco spread attack. WMU hangs around, but the Hoosiers start off with a W, 34-24.

Montana @ Iowa

U-G-L-Y….ugly, ugly, ugly. Iowa 51-3.

Vanderbilt @ Michigan

Michigan's offensive achilles could be their offensive line, but the Commies aren't the team to take advantage. Meat-chickens' skill players run wild, 42-17.

Idaho @ Michigan State

Yet another no contest matchup for the Big Ten. On paper, this looks like the usual Sparkles 300 yard rushing game. The broken record strikes…no trouble….MSU 38-10.

Northern Illinois @ Ohio State

If I were a betting man, I wouldn't want a piece of this game. OSU is the prohibitive favorite but Northern Illinois has proven to be a gritty team under Joe Novak and they return a solid core that I believe can put some points on the Bucknuts. With OSU's talent, any game could get out of hand, but I think NIU may hang. Bucknuts 27-20.

Akron @ Penn State

The flys….err…Zippers aren't too bad (Getsby could be the next great MAC QB), but ready to win in Happy Valley? Not that good. It is sort of a shame for the MAC that their better teams have had to face the better Big Ten teams. Lions 24-14.

Indiana State @ Purdue

Back to old school Tiller this year for Purdont after a few years of strong defensive play….lots of points and shaky defense, but unless Larry Bird suits up for the Sycamores, this one is a laugher….51-9.

Wisconsin @ Bowling Green

Badgers take a while to get settled on offense which keeps it close for a while. BG's spread offense will move the ball here and there, so this one could be closer than people think. Badgers 24-14.
