Badgers Ranked in Preseason Polls

The Wisconsin football and basketball teams are both ranked in recent preseason polls. The Badger football team is ranked No. 23, while the basketball team is ranked No. 19 according to writer Frank Burlison.

Two preseason rankings revealed yesterday had the Wisconsin football and basketball programs ranked in the top 25 nationally.

The UW football team is ranked No. 23 in the prestigious USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll. Here is a look at the top 25:

The Badger basketball team was ranked 19th by college basketball writer Frank Burlison. UW senior Kirk Penney was also listed among the favorites for the John Wooden Award, given to the best college basketball player in the nation.

Other Big Ten teams ranked in the top 25 include Ohio State (No. 13), Michigan State (No. 15) and Illinois (No. 22).
