"I have scholarship offers from every school in the Big Ten except Ohio State." Said linebacker Jeff Jansen.
"I also have offers from Stanford and Nebraska. I'm trying not to discuss recruiting too much during the season.
"My favorites right now would be Michigan, Michigan State, Stanford, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Notre Dame."
Jansen, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker from Jackson, Michigan will be a four-year varsity starter at the linebacker and fullback positions. He broke a school record in the tackle department in 2001.
Jansen has 327 career tackles heading into this season. He's already set the school record for both assisted and solo tackles. Jeff was named all-state as a junior.
Jackson head coach Ben Pack had this to say about his blue chip prospect.
"I really don't know where to start," Pack said. "Jeff (Jansen) will be a four-year varsity starter. He was named all-league dream team the past two seasons.
"He was named Outstanding Linebacker at the Michigan camp the past two seasons. He was the fourth fastest prospect at the Michigan camp as well.
"Jeff has a great work ethic and he's very smart. He has a 4.0 GPA. He's definitely one of the best football players in the state of Michigan."
