Tonight marks the beginning of the 2002 football season, with the Badgers hosting Fresno State at Camp Randall Stadium. The game will be televised live on ESPN at 7 p.m. CST, and can be heard on the internet live via uwbadgers.com.
The season opener also brings the first of eight live pregame shows on Regent Steet, with the return of "Badger Blitz" live on 100X (100.5 FM in Madison). The three-hour pregame show features Steve Politziner and Craig Karmazin of 100X, NBC-15 Sports Director Jeremy Woods, The Capital Times Sports Editor Adam Mertz, Sports Agent Phil Chavez and myself. I will be doing live reports from the press box at Camp Randall Stadium during the final hour of the show.
Anyone making the trip to Madison for the game this evening is welcome to stop by our broadcast location outside The Regent Apartments on Regent Street. Tonight is "100X Listener Appreciation Night," so mention 100X or Badger Nation, and you will receive a ticket to head up the elevator for free food and beverages at the exclusive 100X Rooftop Badger Blitz Party. We will also have plenty of free copies of Badger Nation Magazine on hand.
Our broadcast will also be piped into the outdoor area across the street at the Oak Crest Tavern. Please stop by and introduce yourself, and grab some refreshments before the game.
