Too much time

The Wisconsin men's hockey team travelled to Colorado for the weekend in hopes of gaining confidence as it edges closer to postseason play. They left the arena on Friday with even more questions.

The UW men's hockey team fell to Colorado College 2-1 in overtime Friday night in Colorado Springs, Colo. The loss drops the Badgers to a record of 11-14-2 overall, and 8-10-1 in the WCHA.

UW's Ben Street (Coquitlam, B.C.) scored the game's opening goal giving the Badgers the 1-0 lead at the 11:46 mark of the first period. Jake Skille (Madison, Wis.) and Josh Engel (Rice Lake, Wis.) notched assists on the Street goal.

After a scoreless second frame, CC evened the score as Andreas Vlassopoulos was able to score at the 13:06 mark of the third. Both teams had some shots on goal in the final minutes, but neither team was able to capitalize as the game headed to overtime.

At the 2:09 mark into the overtime period, Mike Testwuide scored the game-winner to move CC up to 15-10-2 overall, and 11-7-1 in conference play.

UW's Brian Elliott (Newmarket, Ontario) recorded 26 saves, while CC's Matt Zaba stopped 25 shots from the Badgers. CC ended the night 1-for-6, while the Badgers were 1-for-3 as their lone goal was scored during the man advantage.

The Badgers and Tigers square off again Saturday night. The game is set to start at 8 p.m. CT. The game can be heard live on the Wisconsin Radio Network, including WIBA-AM 1310 in Madison.
