A prospect to keep an eye on in the Land of Lincoln is 5-foot-10, 185-pound, running back, defensive back Steve Oliver.
Oliver, from Homewood (Ill.) Flossmoor is a three-year starter and he rushed for 1,100 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior.
"I don't have any offers yet," Oliver said. "Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas State, Purdue and Wisconsin have all been in contact.
"All the schools I mentioned would be my favorites right now. I'm completely open."
Oliver has missed the start of the 2002 season with a broken hand but he should see action this weekend. He was named all-conference as a junior.
Steve Oliver is the younger brother of former Iowa Hawkeye Chris Oliver.
