Decision Day Coming Soon?

Milwaukee (Wis.) Wisconsin Lutheran offensive guard Kevin Zeitler (6-4, 285) picked up a huge offer last week from the University of Michigan. Zeitler's scholarship offer count is now nearing double digits. Zeitler talks about his recent offer from the Wolverines as well as the time frame from making his college choice.

"Michigan and Central Florida are the latest schools to offer me a scholarship." Kevin Zeitler told

"I'm up to nine offers now. I camped at Michigan last week and worked out in a couple of sessions with Coach (Andy) Moeller. I thought I did well and Coach Moeller really liked my athleticism.

"After the camp, we were taken on a tour of the campus and then we went back to Schembechler Hall where I met up with Coach Moeller again.

"Coach Moeller took me aside and told me that he and the rest of the coaches really liked me and wanted to offer me a scholarship but they couldn't do that on campus.

"I then went into Coach (Lloyd) Carr's office and he told me that he wanted me to play for Michigan and he told me about the scholarship offer and what all of that means. I should be receiving the official (Michigan) offer in the mail soon."

Zeitler says he could be making his college decision at the end of this week. Two schools are out in front but there's one school that could throw a monkey wrench into his plans.

"Michigan and Wisconsin are my co-favorites right now." Zeitler said. "I could be making a decision this week. Michigan is a great school and they have an incredible tradition. Wisconsin is my home-state school and I've always liked the Badgers.

"I wanted to wait awhile but Wisconsin just committed a lineman (Joe Shafer) and Michigan has a few commitments on the o-line. Scholarships are disappearing.

"Things would change if Miami (Fla.) offered this week. That would be a huge offer for me and I might think about holding off on making a commitment."

Zeitler is a 3.8 student and he scored a 24 on his ACT.
