Texas DB Talks Badgers

Wisconsin assistant coach Kerry Cooks is keeping busy down in the Lone Star state. Coach Cooks is recruiting several prospects in Texas including Kenji Jackson from Mansfield. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Jackson says he's looking at several schools and he goes in-depth about the Badgers.

"Wisconsin is definitely high on my list," Kenji (Ken-JUH) Jackson told Badger Nation.com

"Coach Cooks stays in contact with me on a regular basis. I haven't set up my official visit yet but I'm trying to get some dates. I haven't narrowed anything down yet, I'm still looking at a lot of schools."

Jackson claims offers from several schools but tells us that he has five at the top of his wish list.

"Wisconsin, Nebraska, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri are the schools I'm looking at the hardest right now." Jackson said. "I'm still taking everything in right now though. I feel like I don't want to go too far away from home but if I visit a school like Wisconsin and it's the best fit, well that's where I'll go.

"The play good football at places like Wisconsin and Nebraska, Missouri is an up and coming school. Arkansas plays in great conference for football. I'm definitely going to need to take some official visits.

"I hear it gets cold up there so I better get me a jacket. I've watched Wisconsin games on television and I've seen some clips of how crazy the fans are on you tube. I'm looking forward to getting up there."

Kenji Jackson will be a three-year varsity letter winner at Mansfield. He had over 100 tackles and 10 pass break-ups as a junior. Those numbers were good enough to earn Jackson all-district honors.

Jackson carries a 3.3 GPA in the classroom and scored 1230 on his SAT.
