Questions Answered

Jake Current, a 6-foot-3, 280-pound, guard, from Troy, Ohio made his official visit this past weekend as the Badgers hosted Citadel. Current is already verbally committed to Wisconsin and he was already familiar with campus so he spent this weekend getting questions answered.

"Oh yea, I had a real good official visit." Jake Current told Badger Nation. "Gabe Carimi was my host and I had a very good time. My main thing was to get up there to Madison and talk to the guys on the team.

"I played on Friday night so I didn't get to town until early Saturday morning. I didn't do any of the campus tour stuff because I've seen all that. I went right down to the field to watch warm-ups.

"What I thought was really cool was the jump around. That was the first time I saw that and it was as good as everyone told me it would be. The atmosphere inside and outside of the stadium was awesome."

Current said he got some good advice from Gabe Carimi.

"Gabe (Carimi) just told me that there's a big difference between the high school and college game." Current said.

"Gabe told me that a lot of guys come in here with 4 and 5-star ratings out of high school but once they get to the college game, all that doesn't mean much.

"Gabe said that I'm going to need to come in and work hard. It doesn't matter what you did in high school. The best players play at this level.

"We talked about the transition from high school football to college football and we talked about what he liked the most about the program.

"I'm happy to be a Badger and I know I've made the best decision for myself. I'm looking forward to getting on campus next year."

The Badgers are definitely getting a good one in Current. Troy coach Steve Nolan says current is as good as former Troy Star and current San Diego Charges guard Kris Dielman.
