A Badger From Birth

Kenosha (Wis.) Bradford wide receiver T.J. Williams had only one scholarship offer under his belt when the Badgers decided to offer him during the middle of the summer. Williams ran one of the fastest 40's at the Badgers summer camp and the rest they say is history.

"It was never about how many offers," T.J. Williams said. "I wanted to get the right offer and Wisconsin was the right offer.

"Wisconsin is the school that I grew up watching, the school that I pulled for and the school that I wanted to play my college football for.

"I really don't know how many people actually knew about me. I camped at Wisconsin after my sophomore year and I kept in touch with Coach (Henry) Mason after that.

"Army offered me a scholarship in May that was my first offer. I camped at Wisconsin in June. I ran a 4.37 forty yard dash at the camp and it was only a few days after the camp ended that I received my scholarship offer from the Badgers.

"I pretty much committed on the spot. Like I said before, I got the offer that I wanted and I didn't feel the need to sit and wait to see what else might come."

Williams is a three-year starter for Bradford. He scored six touchdowns as a junior on a run-orientated team. Bradford is currently making a playoff run and they move to the third round this coming weekend after beating Kenosha (Tremper) 21-13 on Saturday.

Before Bradford's win over Tremper, Williams had 9 touchdowns on the season. T.J. was an all-conference and an all-area selection this season. He carries a 3.9 GPA in the classroom and scored 24 on his ACT.

For those keeping track of official visits, look for Williams to be in Madison the first weekend in December.
