Davison Ready For Official Visit

Zach Davison, a 6-foot-4, 228-pound, defensive end, from Waukee, Iowa gave Wisconsin his verbal commitment over the summer. Davison will be in Madison this weekend to watch his future teammates take on Michigan.

"My official visit is going to be this weekend for the Michigan game." Zach Davison told Badger Nation.

"I'm looking forward to getting up there to check everything out. I haven't been in Madison since the summer."

Davison told Badger Nation that Wisconsin showed him the most interest from the very beginning of his recruitment and that's why he ended up giving the Badgers his verbal commitment.

"I spoke to Coach (Mike) Hankwitz called me in May and told me that he would like me to come to summer camp in Madison. I went up there and tested well and had a good camp.

"Coach (Bret) Bielema told me to call him once I got my ACT scores and that's what I did. I called Coach Bielema and told him that I scored a 23 on my ACT. Shortly after that I received my scholarship offer.

"Once I received the offer from Wisconsin, I committed on the spot. I talked about it with my parents and we all felt that Wisconsin was the best fit.

"We all loved the Wisconsin coaches, the prestige of the academics, and the prestige of the Big Ten Conference and based on everything we saw up in Madison during the summer. It's the perfect fit."

Davison led his team to a 7-2 record in 2007. Waukee lost their opening game in the state play-offs. Davison led Waukee in tackles this season and he also had five sacks and scored five touchdowns on the offensive side of the ball.
