Holmen O-Lineman Talks Recruiting

The 2007 season is winding down; prospects are giving verbal commitments and setting up visits. There are also several 2008 grads that have emerged and impressed college recruiters. One of those prospects in 6-foot-7, 295-pound, offensive tackle, Robby Burge.

Robby Burge, from Holmen, Wis., is starting to hear from several D-1 programs including the Wisconsin Badgers.

"I've been talking to Coach (Bob) Bostad at Wisconsin quite a bit," Burge told Badger Nation.

"The way it looks right now is that I'll be what the Wisconsin coaches call a high priority walk-on. I've always wanted to play for Wisconsin so I'm excited.

"It's still early and there could be some offers that come my way. If I do receive offers from other schools and Wisconsin doesn't offer, I'll have to give strong consideration to the schools that offer me a scholarship.

"Another thing I have to consider is the fact that I could chase my dream of playing for Wisconsin and eventually earn a scholarship. I'm talking about taking an official visit to Wisconsin but there isn't a set day yet."

Burge was the bright spot for a Holmen team that went 1-8 this season. He was named 1st team all-area and all-conference.

Burge carries a 3.9 GPA in the classroom, scored a 27 on his ACT and he's also an Eagle Scout.
