Bachinski Breaks It Down

We recently spoke with Milton, Wis., high school coach Jeff Bachinski about his son and D-1 prospect Ethan Bachinski. Coach Bachinski said his son grew up a fan of Penn State but Ethan spoke with Badger Nation last night and told us which schools are at the top of his early wish list.

"I'm starting to get a lot of mail," Ethan Bachinski told Badger Nation.

"Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin have sent mail on a regular basis. There are a few more who have written. Things seem to be picking up a lot right now."

Bachinski grew up a fan of the Nittany Lions but that doesn't necessarily mean that Penn State is at the top of his wish list.

"Penn State might be a little too far away from home for me." Bachinski said. "I love Madison actually. I like the campus. I like the whole social scene that surrounds the football program. Everybody is a Badgers fan.

"Illinois, Minnesota and Iowa are all schools that I'm very interested in. My sister is in grad school at Iowa so I'm familiar with them.

"We've had a few guys from Milton go to Army and they love it. West Point would definitely be something I'd like to check out. Purdue is a pretty good school and football program so I have an interest in them."

Bachinski is a two-way standout, he could play tight end or linebacker at the next level. We asked Ethan which position he prefers.

"It would have to be linebacker for me," said Bachinski. "I love to hit people. I like the aggressiveness needed to play defense. Anywhere on the defensive side of the ball would be ok with me. I don't like to give up a yard. I have that type of mentality."

Does Bachinski plan on hitting the camp and combine circuit next spring?

"I actually plan on hitting several combines." Bachinski said. "I've been invited to the Army National Combine in San Antonio. There will be several more combines that I plan on looking into."

Ethan Bachinski was named all-district, all-area and all-conference as a junior. He also letters in track. His 4x100 relay team qualified for the state sectionals last year and Ethan did represent Milton in the discus at the state meet.

Bachinski said he'd like to major in Criminal Justice.
