Wisconsin vs. Wofford Tonight

In the first meeting between the two schools, Wisconsin and Wofford will tip off at 8 p.m. on ESPN 2, with the Badgers honoring the 1941 championship team.

Wofford Storyline

Wofford will play the fifth game of the season on December 3 at Wisconsin, marking a rare national television appearance for the program. For the Terriers, it will be the first game of a seven game stretch that includes six road games. The Terriers have been dealing with a rash of injuries, with Matt Estep, Shane Nichols and Drew Gibson all missing the last two contests. Wofford opens the season with three returning starters from a team that went 10-20 last season and 3-14 on the road. Senior guards Drew Gibson and Shane Nichols were named to the SoCon Coaches Preseason All-Conference team. The Terriers were selected to finish third in the South Division by the coaches and media.

Wofford only lost came in the season opener at No.19 Arkansas. Since then, Wofford has gone 3-0, winning by an average of 37.7 points.

Wisconsin Storyline

UW is 5-1 all-time against teams from the Southern Conference, including back-to-back wins over UNC Greensboro and Western Carolina on Dec. 23 and 27, 2004. Terrier freshman Noah Dahlman is a native of Minnesota and played on the same AAU team as Badger recruits Jordan Taylor and Jared Berggren.

The Badgers will wear retro uniforms vs. Wofford, reminiscent of the ones worn by UW's 1941 NCAA Championship team. Wisconsin will honor that team in a pre-game ceremony with Fred Rehm and Ted Downs, two members of the ‘41 team, in attendance.

Wisconsin is 77-27 (.740) in non-conference games under head coach Bo Ryan, including 50-3 at the Kohl Center. The Badgers have won 43 of their last 44 non-conference home games, including 16 in a row.

UW went undefeated in the month of December last year (8-0) and is 35-8 (.814) in December in Bo Ryan's seven seasons. That is the best winning percentage of any month under Ryan.
