Ohio Linebacker Names Co-Leaders

Bedford, Ohio linebacker Brandon Kelly has emerged as one of the top defensive prospects in the Midwest. Kelly has set up his official visits and he names co-leaders.

"I have about 20 (scholarship) offers," said linebacker Brandon Kelly.

"I have six favorites and I've set all of my official visits.

"I'm going to Boston College (11-16), Duke (11-23), Maryland or Minnesota (11-30), Stanford (12-6) and Wisconsin (12-14).

"I'm going to Wisconsin this weekend for an unofficial visit."

Kelly, a 6-foot-3, 220-pounder, from Bedford, Ohio is a three-year varsity starter. He had 80 tackles, three interceptions and two caused fumbles as a junior.

All favorites have offered except for Stanford.

What will Kelly be looking for on his official visits?

"Academics are priority #1 and then athletics. Good football team, good tradition and good environment."

Does Brandon have a leader at this time?

"Right now it's between Stanford and Wisconsin. Distance is a going to be a huge factor. Stanford has great academics but distance is going to be a problem.

"My parents have seen every game of mine since I was four years old and they wouldn't be able to afford to fly to California every week." Kelly said.
