Wisconsin's Secret Weapon

Keanon Cooper, a 6-foot, 195-pound, defensive back, from Dallas (TX) Skyline, had a tremendous senior season and he followed that up by blowing up in the Under Armour All-American Bowl in Orlando last weekend. Cooper hasn't decided on a school yet but Wisconsin is very much in the picture.

"My mom really likes Kerry Cooks and that's a definite plus for Wisconsin." Keanon Cooper told Badger Nation.

"I'm taking it easy right now, I'm not visiting any schools this weekend but I'm going to start to set up some visits here really soon."

Which schools still have a shot at Cooper? "Wisconsin, Minnesota, Texas Tech, Miami and Michigan are the schools I'm looking at the hardest." He said.

"I don't think anyone has the lead right now. As far as Wisconsin is concerned, the obvious pluses are the academics, the direction and enthusiasm of the football program and like I said before, my mom likes Coach Cooks.

"Coach Cooks and I get along great. We're from the same neck of the woods so we always have something to talk about and we can relate to each other."

Was the Under Armour All-American game an eye opener for Cooper on what he can expect on the next level?

"Oh yea, he said. "You read and hear about all those guys all year long and the next thing you know, you're going head-to-head.

"Blake Ayles (USC) and Dwayne Allen (Georgia) are absolute beasts. People are definitely going to be hearing from those two guys for the next four years.

"Overall it was a great experience. We worked hard but we also were treated extremely well and we had an incredible players lounge to relax in. I'm just ready to get going on my visits now."

Cooper finished his senior season with 165 tackles, 7 caused fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries, 3 interceptions, a blocked punt and a sack.
