Work Ethic

Dan Moore, a 6-foot-3, 280-pound, defensive tackle, from Joliet (Ill.) Junior College, told Badger Nation that he had a great holiday season with his family and now he's ready to get down to business. Moore arrived in Madison early this morning.

"I'm actually at Wal-Mart right now," Dan Moore said. "I'm out picking up some personal items and a few lamps. The odds and ends stuff that you need for everyday life.

"I had a great Christmas. I spent time with my mom and my uncle (Maurice Scott) and we talked about how truly blessed we are as a family. I had to be honest though, a few days after Christmas, I was ready to get to Madison.

"It's time to go to work now and today is the beginning of the journey. I have a two-bedroom apartment but no roommate yet. We'll see how that goes when classes get going and stuff like that.

"This coming week I'm meeting with compliance to get all that stuff squared away. I'll get my schedule, get my books and just get acquainted with where everything is at on campus.

"I haven't talked to the coaches yet but I'm sure I'll be hitting the weights as soon as possible as well. I don't know when but I'm sure I'll probably start lifting with the team when everyone comes back from break."

Moore says he's ready for the challenge ahead.

"I'm going to come in and work hard," Moore said. "From sun up to sun down, I'm going to give it everything I've got. I owe that to myself, my teammates and the coaches.

"I definitely would love a chance to be in the starting line-up, I mean, who doesn't? Everyone on this level is a competitor. I'm going to prepare myself in the winter for spring football."
