DeCicco, a four-star recruit and the No.8-ranked tight end in the nation by Scout Media, will get to see the Badgers first hand this Saturday when Wisconsin plays No.6 Penn State.
"Wisconsin has a good coaching staff, great tradition, and how they use the tight end position." said DeCicco.
DeCicco likes Iowa because of the central focus being the football program. Pittsburgh is one of his favorite because of the school's coaching staff, how they are starting to establish themselves as contenders in the Big East and of family ties he has there. His brother Dom is a sophomore safety at Pittsburgh.
As DeCicco thinks about his decision, he has been getting himself ready to play at that next level. He has been doing heavy weight lifting to get his body physically ready and mentally he has been going over routes and making sure his route running is clean and crisp.
DeCicco would like several things met by the school of his choosing. DeCicco would like to attend a school that has a good business program, a good coaching staff, how the school uses their tight ends and has a good tradition for football. He feels that if one of his top three schools can accomplish those things then he has made the right choice.
DeCicco has been making sure that his strengths are at the top of his game and has been working on improving weaker areas of his game. He doesn't want any doubts when these three schools look at him.
"I feel that my strengths are my technique blocking, hands and my pass routes. I have been trying to improve my body overall so that I get bigger and faster so that I will be able to dominate easier." said DeCicco.
Although the recruitment process has been difficult for him DeCicco has gotten some good advice from his brother Dom who went through the similar experience.
"My brother told me pick where you're comfortable, don't rush through decisions." said DeCicco.
DeCicco plans to take his brother's advice and think hard about each school and which gives him the best shot to succeed. DeCicco knows that which ever school accepts him knows they will get a player and a person that will be committed to school and the team and will work hard on and off the field.
