Speed Demons

The speed of Florida State is proving to be too much for Wisconsin. The Seminoles have scored 28 unanswered points and scored two defensive touchdowns in what turned into a laugher, which is ironically a fitting end to the Badgers' 2008 season.

Wisconsin vs. Florida State

First Quarter

No Scoring

Second Quarter

7-0 FSU

Derek Nicholson 75 yard fumble return (Graham Gano kick)

Key Play: On the tenth play of a drive that Dustin Sherer was attempting a backwards pass to P.J. Hill and it was read perfectly by Nicholson, who knocked the pass down, recovered it and went untouched.

7-3 FSU

six plays, 58 yards, 2:11 TOP, 4:47 left

FG Phil Welch 31

Key Play: P.J. Hill proved that Wisconsin has just as much speed as the Seminoles when the junior took the hand off around the right end and rumbled 46 yards, getting the Badgers a first down at the FSU 19.

14-3 FSU

four plays, 47 yards, :37 TOP, :07 left

Greg Carr 15 yard pass from Ponder (Gano kick)

Key Play: Niles Brinkley struggled to pick up the pass in the air while Ponder led Carr to the corner of the end zone, where the wide receiver made a one-handed catch and got his knee down just inside the field of play.

Third Quarter

14-6 FSU

six plays, 56 yards, :37 TOP, 12:01 left

FG Phil Welch 41

Key Play: Another long rush by P.J. Hill leads to more points by Wisconsin. Hill went 43 yards on second down to get UW into FSU territory. Hill now has 134 yards on 14 carries.

21-6 FSU

16 plays, 85 yards, 7:07 TOP, 4:47 left

Antone Smith six-yard run (Gano kick)

Key Play: A heck of a drive by the Seminoles. Florida State simply ran the ball down UW's throats and Ponder picked apart the defense through the air, as he went 6-for-8 on the drive.

28-6 FSU

7 plays, 77 yards, 3:04 TOP, :18 left

Carlton Jones 14-yard run (Gano kick)

Key Play: Graham Gano is putting on a show, as he faked out the head referee into calling a roughing the kicker penalty on Louis Nzegwu, although replays showed that Nzegwu never touched him.

Fourth Quarter

35-6 FSU

Dekoda Watson 51 yard fumble return (Graham Gano kick)

Key Play: The rout is on. Dustin Sherer couldn't handle the pressure, coughed up the football and the Seminoles returned it

42-6 FSU

4 plays, 41 yards, 1:50 TOP, 11:04 left

Caz Piurowski 10 yard catch from Ponder (Gano kick)

Key Play: It looks as if UW has thrown in the towel. Wisconsin is getting destroyed on defense, which is evident by FSU's latest drive. Ponder, who will probably be the game's MVP, is doing too much with his arm and his legs, as he has 230 yards of total offense on his own.

42-13 FSU

5 plays, 70 yards, 2:22 TOP, 4:06 left

TJ Theus 20 yard pass from Sherer (Philip Welch kick)
