A Plethora for Prater

Recently ranked as the top wide receiver in the Class of 2010 by Scout.com, junior Kyle Prater, who is also the third-best player in the entire country, has over 20 offers on his plate, including an intriguing offer from Wisconsin.

MADISON - One of the most sought after recruits in Big Ten territory has seen his stock rise since the combine in early January. Kyle Prater (Hillside, IL) has taken his recruitment to a new level. He has been offered over 20 programs across the country including the entire Big Ten (excluding OSU), Oklahoma and Notre Dame.

Despite his team struggling to a 2-7 record, Prater stood out amongst the rest. He accumulated 60 catches for 948 yards and 9 touchdowns. He measures in at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds and reports a 40 yard dash of 4.53 seconds.

Even though Prater has received early attention, he won't make an early decision.

"I will probably narrow it down towards my season," he said. "I am looking to make decision at the US Army Game or National Signing Day." Although Prater was unable to attend the Junior Day at Wisconsin in early March, he said, "I have talked to Coach McCray and the head coach a few times. They are both good guys and I have developed a good relationship with Coach McCray."

Prater has not had the chance to visit Wisconsin yet, but as he explained, "I am looking forward to checking out Madison. I have heard a lot of good things about the campus. They are building the team and looking forward to a championship."
