Badgers add another for 2009

The news surrounding the Wisconsin basketball team continues to flow in. After the uncertainty surrounding Vander Blue, the scholarship offer of Cameron Wright and the walk-on of Jeremy Glover, the Badgers have added another walk-on to the 2009 squad, increasing their roster size to 17.

Dan Fahey, a 6-3 guard from St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago will join the UW men's basketball team as a walk-on.

He confirmed via e-mail Friday that he will attend summer workouts.

Fahey was a high school teammate of Nnanna Egwu, a 2011 recruit who has a scholarship offer from UW.

Fahey will be one of two walk-ons to join the UW basketball team. Badger Nation reported Thursday that Jeremy Glover, a 6-3 guard from Flint High School in Oakton, Va. will join the team as a preferred walk-on.

Fahey said the coaches did not offer him a "preferred spot, but it's a done deal." With Glover and Fahey joining the team, UW's roster would be set at 17, including freshmen Diamond Taylor and Mike Bruesewitz who will be under scholarship.

Wisconsin graduated two scholarship players (Joe Krabbenhoft and Marcus Landry) and two walk-on players (Morris Cain and Kevin Gullikson) after last season.

St. Ignatius finished 21-7 last season losing in the Illinois State Regional Finals. Fahey hit a game-winning shot in the waning seconds of SICP's Regional Semi-final victory.
