Narrowing his Options

Having at 18 scholarship offers from coast to coast to chose from, Illinois tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz, ranked the second-best tight end in the country by has narrowed his choices down to five; a list that makes five Midwest schools very happy to be on.

MADISON - Wisconsin is quickly becoming a school known for their tight end production. In recent years, Wisconsin has produced plenty of top talent at TE. The New York Giants' third round pick Travis Beckum and Houston Texans Pro Bowl TE Owen Daniels are just a couple of the tight ends developed by the Badgers in recent years.

C.J. Fiedorowicz (Johnsburg HS) certainly fits into the mold of what Wisconsin is looking for at tight end. At 6-foot-7 and 240-pounds, Fiedorowicz is currently ranked as the number two TE in the 2010 class by

As a junior in 2008, Fiedorowicz had 49 catches, 809 yards, and 11 touchdowns. His size, speed, and receiving abilities have drawn interest from around the country including "everybody in the Big Ten, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and LSU."

While Fiedorowicz currently has 18 offers from around the country, some schools are currently turning up the heat on the highly ranked TE, as the Badgers, Iowa, Ohio State and Notre Dame have been the top suitors after him over the past couple of weeks.

Although plenty of school are after him, Fiedorowicz told Badger Nation that his current top five is, "Wisconsin, Iowa, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and probably Illinois."

One of those schools, just two hours to the north of Johnsburg, IL, is Wisconsin. Fiedorowicz has had some contact with a few of the Wisconsin coaches. "Coach McCray mostly and Coach Rudolph (have been in contact)," Fiedorowicz said. "I like those guys. They are both really funny. Coach McCray is really funny, I like his accent. Coach Rudolph seems like he coaches the tight ends well and I like them both a lot."

Fiedorowicz has been to Madison, but is now planning a return trip. "I have been there once, but I think I am going up there again sometime at the end of May," Fiedorowicz explained. "It was good. It was in the winter, so I didn't get to see a lot of green or anything, but it was nice and I liked the campus a lot. The stadium is huge. It is definitely one of the biggest in the Big Ten. I looked at Iowa and that was way smaller."

The four-star tight end knows what he is looking for in a school. "The type of offense they have, the coach staff, the people, the campus, and the location," Fiedorowicz said.

There are a couple things that stick out about Wisconsin. "The offense and I like Coach Bielema and the coaching staff a lot."

Fiedorowicz is starting to think about a commitment, but there are still doubts of when he will officially decide. "I was thinking in the summer but I don't know," Fiedorowicz explained. "It might end up being next September or October."
