Jean Getting Ready for Wisconsin Trip

With Wisconsin aiming to bring in a talented cornerback to add depth to the secondary, the Badgers have put their recruiting focus in Paniel Jean, who will take an official visit to Madison in a couple weeks.

MADISON - In the past three seasons under Coach Bielema, the Badgers have become increasingly involved in recruiting the state of Florida. In 2007, the Badgers were able to sign one of the top corners in the state of Florida, Aaron Henry, despite a later offer from the Gators.

After the addition of Charlie Partridge to the staff last season, the focus on Florida has only increased. In 2010, the Badgers hope they can get another top corner from the Sunshine State.

Paniel Jean, Palm Beach Central High School, has seen his stock rise over the course of the past year. After a good performance at Florida's Friday Night Lights, Jean has continued to garner interested from around the country.

Jean, who finished his junior season with 36 tackles and three picks, currently has over 10 offers which include offers from Wisconsin, Maryland, Connecticut, and Western Michigan.

While the season has just begun for this Florida defensive back, his recruitment is in full swing. He already has one visit scheduled for later this season. "I have one visit set up and that is with Wisconsin on October 16," Jean told Badger Nation.

The Badgers are recruiting Jean hard and making an impression. "I have contact with most of the coaches, some with Coach Cooks, but it is mainly Coach Partridge," Jean explained. "He is a real nice guy, down to earth. He keeps me updated on everything that is going on and how practice is going.

"They are recruiting me at corner. They said I can get playing time, and that I just have to keep working hard. I am looking for competition when I get there. I can't just start when I get there, I have to face some competition."

While his visit is still two weeks away, Jean has some things he wants to see on his visit to Madison. "The campus, the coaches, and all the players," Jean said. "Not just only football, I want to see academics and all of that. I want to see graduation rates and how they help out the football players."

While Jean is just starting to schedule visits for this coming fall he doesn't expect to make a decision for a few more months.
