One of the Badgers' top walk-on targets decided he will attend Wisconsin, according to Wishoops.net. Here is the report, filed by Jason "Pearl" Kiley:
"After a meeting this morning with UW Football coach Barry Alvarez, Madison Lafollette star athlete Jonte Flowers has agreed to be a walk-on for the UW Football team this upcoming season.
Also a great basketball player, speculation has been that Flowers would choose basketball but "he really wants the challenge of being a football player at a high level" said a source close to Flowers.
Jonte looks to follow in the long line of successful walk-ons for the UW program most notably last year's NCAA interceptions leader Jim Leonhard."
The Badgers will name a list of "preferred walk-ons" on Wednesday with the rest of their 2003 recruiting class. Those names have been kept largely in the dark because of the possibility of other schools coming in at the last minute, offering scholarships and stealing them away.
Badger Nation will report more names of committed walk-ons as we receive official confirmation.
