Jean's Still Contemplating

Florida cornerback Peniel Jean has already been to Wisconsin, but the young prospect still has other schools on his radar. Check out what Jean is saying in this update.

MADISON - As with many different prospects around the country, there have been many twists and turns in the recruitment of Palm Beach Central High School defensive back Peniel Jean.

The 5-foot-11, 182-pound cornerback was rumored to have committed to Oregon early last month. However, that rumor turned out to be false, with Jean having a little fun on his Facebook page.

Badger Nation caught up with the talented cornerback from the Sunshine State. "My recruitment is going good," Jean said. "I still get coaches coming through the school."

Jean, a two-star cornerback that's the 111th-cornerback in the nation by, has garnered interest from outside of the state of Florida. He has received offers from Buffalo, Western Michigan, Marshall, Western Kentucky, Northern Illinois, UConn, Maryland, and Wisconsin.

Who are Jean's favorites? "Wisconsin is one, and UConn and Maryland," Jean said. "I'm going to set up visits after the season."

While Jean has yet to visit Connecticut and Maryland, he did visit Wisconsin just under a month ago. Jean was hosted by fellow Florida natives Dezman Southward and Antonio Fenelus. The Badgers certainly left a great impression on Jean.

"I still like the Badgers and the (coaching) staff a lot," Jean said. "I like the atmosphere, the coaching staff, and the players. I can see myself playing there."

While Jean's season winds down, his recruitment is still going at full speed ahead and Jean is still taking his time making a decision. "I don't have a timeline yet," Jean said.

Stay tuned to Badger Nation for continued updates on all prospects considering the Badgers.
