"I haven't committed anywhere," Kirpes said. Kirpes, a linebacker from Rowlett (TX) HS had received a little interest from the Badgers earlier in the season. He had received an offer, but that apparently has been taken by other linebacker prospects.
"They filled up on their linebackers," Kirpes said. "I sent them my senior tap though. I made first team all district and made the Dallas metroplex area top 100 team."
The Badgers have received commitments from three linebackers in the class of 2010, all of which are from Ohio. Josh Harrison, Cody Byers, and Cameron Ontko had given their commitment earlier this year.
Kirpes has not given up hope as he has sent his tape into the Badgers hoping that it catches their eye again. However the Badgers only have a few sports remaining and need prospects at other key positions such as defensive tackle.
"Texas State (will be D1 in the next 2-3 years), Iowa State, Ohio and New Mexico so far," Kirpes said of who is showing some interest. "I have a visit with Texas State scheduled for Jan 9 and a home visit sometime before that. I'm not sure if I would walk on anywhere. I'm just waiting it out and seeing what comes."
