Marshall's Law

After assistant coach Howard Moore came and watched him in person last night, 2011 guard George Marshall felt that Wisconsin was the place for him, becoming the second member of UW's 2011 recruiting class.

MADISON - The University of Wisconsin men's basketball team received a commitment this evening from 2011 point guard George Marshall. The ultra-talented lead guard chose the Badgers over the likes of Wake Forest, Arizona, Arizona State, DePaul, Xavier and Baylor.

Marshall had yet to talk with head coach Bo Ryan but stated that assistant coach and Marshall's main recruiter Howard Moore was very excited to hear that he had committed. Wisconsin had everything Marshall was looking for in a school and provided a nice blend of academics and athletics.

"I felt it was a good balance of academics and basketball, they will help me achieve my goals at the next level, Coach Ryan is a great coach and I will be able to reach my full potential under him. They have a very exciting environment, it's a basketball school and I just felt that I couldn't go wrong."

In the meantime, Marshall and his teammates are off to a 15-4 start after opening the season 0-3 and he maintains lofty goals for both himself and his team as the season progresses.

"(Team goals) win both the city and state championship and (personal goals) I want to make all city and all state.

The Badgers fill a definite need with the commitment of Marshall and look to have their next great point guard in the fold.
