LaCosse Brings The Right Stuff

At 6-foot-6, 215 pounds and a decent 4.62 forty yard dash time, it's no wonder schools have started showing such high interest in Naperville North quarterback Matt LaCosse. With an accurate throwing arm to boot, LaCosse has already reeled in one Big Ten offer, and he's looking for more.

MADISON – Junior quarterback Matt LaCosse is looking to make his home in the Big Ten conference. LaCrosse so far has received offers from Northern Illinois, Illinois, and Toledo. While those offers are out there, LaCosse would love to receive offers from other teams.

"I would love to get offers from Iowa, Northwestern or Michigan State," LaCosse told Badger Nation. "I fell in love with Northwestern and have visited many times."

LaCosse is coming off a tough season where is team was plagued with injuries, just making it in to the playoffs only to be bounced out in the first round. While LaCosse is a three-sport athlete with basketball and baseball, he has one sport he's focusing on which is football.

"Right now I'm working on my passing accuracy", said LaCosse. "We worked a out of the shotgun in high school, so I am just trying to work on different aspects that will help me in college."

LaCosse is leaning towards Illinois but is keeping his options open in case any of his favorites decided to offer him. LaCosse does have legit reasons why he wants to get offers from those schools.

"The Northwestern coach is a great guy who loves his players. Iowa and Michigan State are prestigious schools with awesome game day environment and gorgeous campuses", said LaCosse.

LaCosse feels that he's a quarterback with all the right tools and more that will do what it takes to get the job done.

"I'm a multidimensional player who can play many positions," he said. "I'm hard nosed and I know how to get the job done. I have an offensive perspective who wants and who will get the ball in the end zone."

While LaCosse hasn't visited Wisconsin yet, he loves their offense and recognized the success they've had under Head Coach Bret Bielema. LaCosse has been invited to various junior days and spring practices but nothing set in stone. LaCosse is looking for a team that has one special aspect.

"My expectations for a school, I'm looking at the player-coach relationship," said LaCosse. "I want to see that the team cares about more then just winning."

LaCosse also feels that he would be a valuable asset to any team. LaCosse feels that he could play at any position. He's a hard worker that loves giving back to the community and would help his teammates in any situation.

While he has no plans for the near future LaCosse would like to make his decision either before or after his senior season.
