Alexander has been able to sign only one prospect from Michigan in his three seasons, (Hemlock offensive lineman Zac Matthias in 2009). However, Coach Alexander's hard work may pay off in 2011. This time it could be Raymone Taylor.
Taylor, a junior at Highland Park Community High School (Highland Park, MI), recorded seven interceptions on defense and had about 30 catches for 500 yards and six touchdowns as a wide receiver.
While the first four schools have recruited Taylor as a corner back, Wisconsin is recruiting him as a wide receiver.
"I play both of them," Taylor told Badger Nation. "It really doesn't matter. I'm good at both."
Coach Alexander would be Taylor's position coach at Wisconsin.
"He is a great dude," Taylor said. "I like him very much. He stays in touch with me a lot. I am supposed to go down there for the spring game. I have to call down there, call him, and see when it is. They just said that I'm a good player and if I come there I have a good chance to play."
While Taylor has yet to visit Madison, he does have a favorable impression of the university.
"Wisconsin I know is a very good school, you have to have very good grades to get in there," Taylor said. "I know their football program did good. That's a good school to go to. I like Wisconsin."
Taylor has a few things he is looking for in his next home.
"Really, I'm looking for a school that fits me," Taylor said. "A school that makes me feel at home and of course education. I want to major in business. So I hope the school has a good business education, that's all. I really want to be close to home, but it really doesn't matter, I just want to find a new home."
Taylor should be making visits to Wisconsin, Toledo, Indiana and Illinois in April.
"I'm still looking at everybody. I'm not going to put any school above any other school," Taylor said. "I'm just praying on it. I really don't know. I hope to make a decision during the football season or really maybe before the season. I'm just going to really keep my grades up and put it in God's hands. He has put me in a great position."
