Junior center Dave Mader fractured a bone in his right hand during practice on Tuesday and is expected miss the rest of the season, the UW team orthopedist announced today. Mader, 6-11, 255 pounds, has played in 25 games this season and is averaging 2.6 points and 2.2 rebounds in 9.4 minutes per game.
The Badger men's basketball team opens the postseason on Friday in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten tournament. Wisconsin is the No. 1 seed and will face the winner of Thursday's game between eighth-seeded Ohio State and No. 9 Iowa.
