Laramie, Wyo. -- University of Wyoming Cowgirl head basketball coach Joe Legerski announced one addition to this year's recruiting class on Thursday with the signing of Emma Langford to attend UW beginning in the fall of 2008. Langford, from Arthurton, Australia, will come in as a freshman.

"We are excited to add Emma Langford to the Wyoming basketball family," said Legerski. "She brings great size and skill to the court. We should expect her to come make an immediate impact and contribution to the program."

A four-time All-Australian Junior camp selection while attending the Australian Institute of Sport for two years (2006-08), Langford represented the South Australia Country at the National Junior Championships on the Under 16 (2003 and 2004) and Under 18 (2005 and 2006) Teams as a captain. She led the U20 team to a gold medal this past year and a bronze medal in 2007.

Langford is the fifth student athlete to sign a letter of intent with the Cowgirls for next season. The other signees include Leah Fitzgerald (6-2, Forward/Center, Colorado Springs, Colo.), Brenna Freeze (5-11, Guard, Albuquerque, N.M.), Kristen Scheffler (5-11, Guard, Lovell, Wyo.) and Ashley Sickles (6-1, Forward, Cresco, Iowa).
