Fort Collins, Colo. – Colorado Ice All-Star and former Wyoming kicker Deric Yaussi signed Tuesday with the Colorado Crush of the Arena Football League. Yaussi currently leads the United Indoor Football League (UIF) in points-after-touchdown percentage (89.3), is second in points scored thru kicks (61), fourth in field goal percentage (40.0) and has been tabbed as UIF Player of the Week for the week of April 3.
Yaussi finished the 2007 season with two Player of the Week awards for the weeks of March 28 and July 18, and the league record for his 60-yard field goal in the final regular season game. He was selected as an All-Star after finishing first in points-after-touchdown percentage, third overall in points and eighth in scoring.
Yaussi finished his career at Wyoming in 2005 ranked No. 6 in school history in scoring with 219 career points. He ranked No. 13 in the nation in field goals made his senior season, and Sporting News listed him as the ninth-best placekicker in the nation. He began his professional career with the Ice in 2007.
