Xavier announced on Thursday that the Musketeers lost a member of their incoming freshman class.
A release from the school simply said: Redshirt freshman Eddie Ekiyor is no longer an enrolled student at Xavier University. He chose to enroll for the fall semester at Carleton University in his home country of Canada.
The 6-foot-9, four-star big man joined the Musketeers during the second semester last season and practiced with them while he was sitting out using his redshirt. He committed to Xavier last October over offers from Florida and Miami, joining combo guard Quentin Goodin and post player Tyrique Jones as a part of a 2016 class that was ranked No. 24 in the country by Scout.
With Ekiyor's departure, Xavier now has 10 scholarship players.
