Jason Maitre MIA DB
Dolphins' Jason Maitre: Shifts to IR
1h agoThe Dolphins placed Maitre (undisclosed) on the injured reserve list Tuesday.
The 25-year-old cornerback will now miss the Dolphins' entire 2025 campaign after being placed on injured reserve Wednesday. Maitre has yet to appear in an NFL regular-season game after going undrafted out of Wisconsin in 2024.

Zach Cunningham DEN ILB
Lions' Zach Cunningham: Going to Motor City
2h agoDetroit signed Cunningham on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Cunningham has appeared in the regular season for four different NFL teams, and most recently, he suited up for seven games with Denver in 2024. For the first time in his career though, he was used more frequently on special teams than on defense. He'll probably only play a depth role for the Lions in 2025.

D.J. Wonnum CAR LB
Panthers' D.J. Wonnum: Tending to back issue
2h agoWonnum (back) did not participate at OTAs on Tuesday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Wonnum apparently had his back "flare up," so it's not immediately clear what brought about the injury. There is also currently no concrete timeline for his return. For now, DJ Johnson and rookie second-rounder Nic Scourton figure to see more cracks at first-team practice reps.

Tommy Tremble CAR TE
Panthers' Tommy Tremble: Expected back for training camp
2h agoCoach Dave Canales revealed Tuesday that Tremble underwent a successful procedure on his back last week, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
While the report didn't detail the back issue addressed by the tight end's recent surgery, Canales indicated that Tremble is expected to be ready at some point in training camp. Once the 2021 third-rounder returns to the field, he'll reclaim his role in a TE corps that returns Ja'Tavion Sanders and now includes 2025 fifth-rounder Mitchell Evans. In 12 contests last season, Tremble recorded 23 catches (on 32 targets) for 234 yards and two touchdowns, while Sanders put up a 33-342-1 receiving line in 16 games.

Bralen Trice ATL LB
Falcons' Bralen Trice: Progressing in ACL recovery
2h agoCoach Raheem Morris said Tuesday that it is a "realistic goal" for Trice (knee) to participate in full at training camp come July, Daniel Flick of SI.com reports.
It seems a reasonable projection for Trice's recovery timeline given he suffered his ACL tear during Atlanta's 2024 preseason opener back in August. Also, it's encouraging that he's currently active at OTAs, as Morris notes, albeit not at full capacity. Until he's truly back in the mix, rookie first-rounders Jalon Walker and James Pearce should get more meaningful practice reps.
-
Joey Bosa BUF DE
Bills' Joey Bosa: Dealing with calf issue
3h agoCoach Sean McDermott said Tuesday that Bosa will not participate in offseason workouts this spring due to a calf injury, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.
McDermott said that Bosa "pulled a calf" and that he is expected to be ready for training camp in July, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN reports. The update could still be viewed as concerning for Buffalo, given Bosa has missed a combined 23 games over the past three seasons. Until he's ready for football activities again, his absence should open up more first-team reps for veteran A.J. Epenesa and rookie third-rounder Landon Jackson.

Casey Schmitt SF 1B
Giants' Casey Schmitt: Starting against righty
9m agoSchmitt is starting at first base and batting seventh Tuesday against righty Jack Flaherty and the Tigers.
Schmitt typically only starts against lefties, but he's getting his second start of the season against a righty with LaMonte Wade struggling mightily at the plate. Schmitt is 3-for-7 with three walks in three games since getting activated from the injured list May 19.
-
LaMonte Wade SF 1B
Giants' LaMonte Wade: Sitting Tuesday
15m agoWade is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Tigers.
Wade typically sits against lefties, but he's out of the mix in this one with righty Jack Flaherty pitching for Detroit. He is hitting .211 with a .297 OBP and zero home runs in 20 games this month. Casey Schmitt is starting at first base and batting seventh.
-
Cedric Mullins BAL CF
Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Resting against another righty
22m agoMullins is being rested for a second game in a row Tuesday against the Cardinals, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
The lefty-hitting Mullins typically plays against most lefties and all righties, yet he's now sat in three of the last four games -- all against righties. Mullins is hitting .211 with two home runs, one steal and a 33.3 percent strikeout rate over the last 10 games. Jorge Mateo is getting a rare start against a righty in Mullins' place.
-
Nolan Arenado STL 3B
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Back in action
27m agoArenado (ribs) is starting at third base and batting sixth Tuesday against the Orioles.
As expected, Arenado is back in action after sitting out Monday to rest after he fell into the crowd to make a catch Sunday. Arenado has never hit lower than .253 over a full MLB season and his average sits at .234 entering play Tuesday. The 34-year-old third baseman has provided five home runs, 23 runs, 25 RBI and one steal in 49 games.
-
Adley Rutschman BAL C
Orioles' Adley Rutschman: Sitting again Tuesday
33m agoRutschman (head) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
It's the second straight game on the bench for Rutschman after he took a foul tip to the mask Sunday against the Red Sox. According to Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun, interim manager Tony Mansolino said Rutschman is scheduled to take batting practice Tuesday, weather permitting, and could be back in the lineup soon.
-
Zach Penrod BOS RP
Red Sox's Zach Penrod: Activated, optioned to WooSox
34m agoPenrod (elbow) was activated from the 60-day injured list Tuesday and optioned to Triple-A Worcester, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Penrod opened the year on the IL with a left elbow UCL sprain and he was activated after one scoreless rehab appearance Saturday in the Florida Complex League. The 27-year-old lefty will knock some rust off at Triple-A before potentially being an option in the majors later this summer.
-
Russell Westbrook DEN PG
Nuggets' Russell Westbrook: To undergo hand surgery
3h agoWestbrook announced Tuesday that he will undergo right hand surgery, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
Westbrook said he is undergoing surgery to address two breaks that happened during the season. The veteran guard managed to suit up in 75 regular-season games despite these injuries, averaging 13.3 points, 6.1 assists, 4.9 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.3 three-pointers on 44.9 percent from the field. Westbrook holds a $3.47 million player option for 2025-26 and should be a full go for training camp.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker MIN SF
Timberwolves' Nickeil Alexander-Walker: Impressive two-way performance
10h agoAlexander-Walker posted 23 points (9-15 FG, 5-8 3Pt), four rebounds, six assists and two steals over 29 minutes during Monday's 128-126 loss to the Thunder in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals.
Alexander-Walker served up his best game of the postseason, scoring at least 20 points for just the second time in the playoffs. With Mike Conley continuing to struggle, the Timberwolves have had to rely on the likes of Alexander-Walker and Donte DiVincenzo, both of whom did more than their fair share of the heavy lifting. However, with Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle struggling, Minnesota fell short of the mark, handing Oklahoma City a 3-1 series lead.

Donte DiVincenzo MIN SG
Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Scores 21 points in loss
11h agoDiVincenzo closed Monday's 128-126 loss to the Thunder in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals with 21 points (7-11 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, five assists and one steal in 28 minutes.
DiVincenzo had arguably his best game of the playoffs, ending as one of three Timberwolves to score at least 20 points. Prior to Monday, DiVincenzo had scored single digits in nine of the previous 10 games. While DiVincenzio, Jaden McDaniels and Nickeil Alexander-Walker were all able to play above themselves, Julius Randle and Anthony Edwards combined for just 21 points, ultimately resulting in what was a disappointing result for the home team.
-
Anthony Edwards MIN SG
Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Disappointing performance Monday
11h agoEdwards posted 16 points (5-13 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 5-7 FT), four rebounds and six assists in 41 minutes during Monday's 128-126 loss to the Thunder in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals.
Edwards came up short in the loss, tallying just 16 points in what was arguably the most important game of the season. Although it's been a strong postseason, some questions remain when it comes to Edwards' ability to produce when it matters. Now trailing 3-1, Edwards will have a chance to redeem himself when the two teams meet in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, with Minnesota needing a win to extend the series.
-
Alex Caruso OKC PG
Thunder's Alex Caruso: Logs season-high 33 minutes
11h agoCaruso closed with 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-5 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and two steals in 33 minutes during Monday's 128-126 victory over the Timberwolves in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals.
Caruso stepped into a larger role, starting the second half in place of Isaiah Hartenstein. After playing just 10 minutes in the Game 3 loss, the coaching staff opted to go small against the Timberwolves. Although his numbers don't jump off the page, Caruso has been pivotal for the Thunder, providing a consistent defensive presence while also landing a handful of key baskets. The two teams will meet again in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, with the Thunder now just one win away from advancing to the Western Conference Finals.
-
Isaiah Hartenstein OKC C
Thunder's Isaiah Hartenstein: Logs just 16 minutes Monday
11h agoHartenstein supplied two points (1-1 FG), six rebounds, two assists and one steal in 16 minutes during Monday's 128-126 victory over Minnesota in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals.
Hartenstein played fewer than 20 minutes for the second straight game, a decision based purely on the individual matchup. Against a Timberwolves team with a more mobile frontcourt, Oklahoma City has opted to run a smaller lineup of late. The addition of Hartenstein and Alex Caruso during the offseason was for just this reason, providing the team with the flexibility to chop and change its rotation. Hartenstein will likely continue to start, but his playing time could remain limited, at least for the remainder of the Western Conference Finals.

Jake Oettinger DAL G
Stars' Jake Oettinger: Slated to start in Game 4
2h agoOettinger is scheduled to patrol the road blue paint Tuesday versus the Oilers in Game 4, per Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News.
Oettinger has stumbled in back-to-back losses, conceding a total of nine goals on 49 shots (.816 save percentage). The Stars might be without Roope Hintz (lower body) again in Game 4, so Oettinger will need to be at his best to send the series back to Dallas tied at 2-2. Following a loss in his postseason career, Oettinger has an 18-7 record, but it will be another daunting task against an Edmonton squad generating 3.93 goals per game during the playoffs, the highest mark among the four teams left standing.
-
Sam Reinhart FLA C
Panthers' Sam Reinhart: Questionable for Wednesday
2h agoReinhart (lower body) participated in Tuesday's optional practice but remains questionable for Game 5 against Carolina on Wednesday, George Richards of NHL.com reports.
Reinhart has missed Florida's last two games and remains day-to-day after skating for the first time since leaving Game 2 versus the Hurricanes last Thursday. He has produced four goals, 11 points, 41 shots on net, 12 blocked shots and 30 hits across 14 appearances this postseason. Niko Mikkola (upper body) and A.J. Greer (undisclosed) also took part in Tuesday's practice after sitting out Monday's 3-0 loss to Carolina in Game 4. The Panthers will determine if any of the injured players can return in Game 5 after Wednesday's morning skate.
-
Mattias Ekholm EDM D
Oilers' Mattias Ekholm: Remains out Tuesday
4h agoEkholm (undisclosed) will not be available for Game 4 against the Stars on Tuesday, per Ryan Rishaug of TSN.
Ekholm last suited up in the regular season April 11 against San Jose, so his ice time will most likely be managed once he's cleared to return to the lineup. Troy Stecher will probably be a healthy scratch when that time comes. Ekholm's next chance to play will be in Game 5 on Thursday in Dallas.
-
Calvin Pickard EDM G
Oilers' Calvin Pickard: Suiting up for Game 4
4h agoPickard (lower body) will be the backup goaltender in Tuesday's home matchup versus Dallas in Game 4, Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic reports.
Following a six-game absence, Pickard will return to the lineup as Stuart Skinner's understudy in Game 4. The 33-year-old Pickard has a 6-0 record with a 2.84 GAA and an .888 save percentage across seven appearances this postseason.
-
Lukas Rousek BUF RW
Lukas Rousek: Headed overseas
5h agoRousek signed a two-year contract with HV71 of the Swedish Hockey League on Tuesday, per the club's press release.
Rousek suited up in 17 games for the Sabres, with his last appearance with the team coming in 2023-24. This past season, the left-shot winger produced seven goals, 42 points and a plus-1 rating over 72 regular-season outings for AHL Rochester before adding two goals and eight points across seven playoff outings. A sixth-round pick in 2019, Rousek could come back to North America in the future if he performs well in the SHL.
-
Stuart Skinner EDM G
Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Set to start Tuesday
6h agoSkinner is expected to guard the cage at home in Tuesday's Game 4 clash against Dallas.
Skinner is coming off back-to-back wins in which he gave up just one goal on a combined 59 shots (.983 save percentage). While the 26-year-old backstop could have a new No. 2 behind him in Calvin Pickard (lower body), it's Skinner's crease for the time being.
